Solution to Xperia Arc Wifi Problem

My dad has bought Xperia Arc, so I helped him to do some setups with email and our home wifi.

Problem: Xperia Arc doesn't seems to connect to my home wifi even after numerous attempts and after a while my computer showed a 'local network cable unplugged' message. Did the phone made my router restart? ...

Anyway, I went Google and found out that this is a major problem to many Xperia arc users, I'm not the only one having this problem. If you've having the similar 'disconnect' or 'not in range' wifi problem as me, then do read following to save you some time troubleshooting (I hope so).

Method 1 - Adding Xperia Arc 's ip address and mac address into my router's static DHCP Table

I tried this method as it seems logical and workable but the result was disappointing. It stopped at 'obtaining ip address' and then got disconnected immediately. I didn't even see the 'connected' message on the phone.

Method 2 - Changing wifi encryption mode to WPA (TKIP)

I changed my wifi's encryption mode to WPA (TKIP) as previously my wifi encryption mode was WPA2... end result? NOT WORKING AT ALL :(

Method 3 Changing wifi band mode to wireless G only + using the wifi keep alive APP

This is the most successful or only method that works.

Changed my wifi band to wireless G only (tried mixture of wireless B,G,N and N only - both didn't work only G works)
Changed back my wifi encryption to WPA2 (AES)
Downloaded wifi keep alive from market (it's free) and I choose default mode for the APP.

It seems like it's only able to connect to my home's wifi in wireless G mode, however connection doesn't last as it gets disconnected sometimes, so having wifi keep alive can help.

Complaints: If it wasn't for my dad, I wouldn't have spent 2hours to figure and solve this problem. I feel that testings should be done on its function before selling or otherwise they could have just release the fix quickly.

By the way, I'm using EnGenius ERS9850 wireless N router.

I ordered this sweety from Dell's website and got it delivered within next 4 working days. I would say this is definitely worth the money if you are looking for a monitor for PS3 and you want to put the monitor at your room.

Thought of buying 32inch TV cum Monitor display but I think it was too big for my room and my guess was right. Dell's 24inch ST2410, fits in perfectly in my room. FF13 graphic just look too good to be true! Really amazing graphics ^^

It doesn't come with a speaker, it was okie for me because I got my own speaker. Anyway you can order speaker from dell when you are getting this monitor.

Dota look magnified when it's played on this screen, so it looks bigger so more details for me . It cost me $189.99, Usual Price $259.99.

Some of you guys may know that when you win a fight, you will have the likelihood to see is "Secret Stash" thingy.

So what is it?

No more random loot drops from the Mafia Wars Fight.

So what you need to do is post that up, get your friends to click on secret stash link on the wall and both you and your friend will get some pieces of loots.

You may have to spam their walls if you want that Mafia Wars Secret Stash loot. My say is balance them out. If you don't want to spam your friends with your Mafia Wars posting, then don't. After all you can buy those loots from the store using Cash =P

Anyone prefers the old system? I still prefer the loot without spamming-old system. Imagine you have 501 Mafias ._. clicking all of their secret stash links are crazy!

If you click on Marketplace link you would notice that the Godfather store has become flash based.

The layout is neatly organized and pretty much only minor changes like buying different types of boost and considerable variety of special edition loot items.

Side note: If anyone notice the image of stolen police car has been changed. From a 1930's Classic to Police Cruiser.

Winning Mafia Wars Fights the Easy Way

I've just reactive my Mafia Wars account and decided I should put up some tips to help you guys how to win Mafia Wars fights the easy way.

Even though most of the players were like 4 levels higher than me, I was able to win 85% of the fights. Why is this so? Because

What is the secret?

Find players with small mafias

Many players quitted Mafia Wars so their account were left to rot, which means they are inactive, so you can expect less mafias following them, less weapons and less stats.

Hit and Run Tactic

To prevent players from putting you to hitlist, I suggest just attack them once and find other players to attack. This could save your ass. Imagine you iced somebody and that guy put you on hitlist + getting higher leveled friends to attack you. OMG.

Spots dormant players

It's easy to spot dormant players by looking at their collectibles. If they don't have any recent collectible, well, they are probably no longer playing Mafia Wars so you could attack them safely.

New Function in Mafia Wars : Chop Shop

Something that you need to know for this.

Total of 10 Levels.

Each level will unlock a new car type and enables your

Chop Shop to manufacture more parts.

Cost 5 of each type of car part for each level, number to

increase by 1 per level.

Car parts are random drops from jobs and fights.

As you can guess from the car part names, to get a certain

rare car parts, you need to get them from relevant cities.

Hi everybody,

Just now, I tried accessing my dusty Mafia Wars Account but I couldn't gain access

to it.

The error I got was this

You may have clicked an expired link or mistyped the address. Some web addresses

I THOUGHT MY MAFIA WARS A/C WAS BANNED OR HACKED!

And then I went to google search for why I can't access mafia wars. I came across

this article on Unblock Mafia Wars Acount. It sounds silly but thats what it was

written on the article. See below.

Maybe you are violating the rules. Using multiple accounts to exploit mafia wars.

Such as a mafia wars illegal transaction, using mafia wars macros, exploiting the

Sigh. So, my Mafia WArs A/C really got banned? I didn't do anything wrong to

Game Updates - We made a few improvements to our fighting, robbing, and hitlists.

Players can now only attack, rob or put a hit on players within a reasonable level range
Players can not continually add the same person to the hitlist multiple times in a row
Each hit put out will increase the minimum bounty for the next hit, within a short period of time. The more you use the hitlist, the more expensive it will get.
Now you can see how long until your next energy pack is available. A timer will be displayed on the home page.

1. Don't use up all of your stamina on just one player. Fight with each player once only. This can lower the chance of that player getting revenge you ;-)

2. Keep your health below 20 so that you will appear weak or iced, thus players can't attack you.

3. Recruit more mafias to make yourself stronger, buy more powerful weapons.

4. Add that player to hitlist. Oh you mean he/she is weak or iced too? Bookmark he/she's profile link by clicking on their name, then you'll their profile, yes you add that link into your bookmark. From time to time when their health has heal enough to fight, you can fight or add them to hitlist again.

Note: I don't encourage on taking revenge unless that player had constantly been attacking/robbing/hitlisting you for several times e.g. like more than 6 times and you got fed up about it. Revenge is an endless cycle xD

Addicted to mafia wars... I keep adding energy to level up fast, ignoring my attack and defense first. Some people added me to hitlist. I died again today, but it's okie because I can add them to hitlist too :P Thats how we do it! I'm so lazy to add friends from mafia wars. Anyone playing Mafia Wars online @ Face book? I do. I'm addicted to it. So I wanna introduce and share some of the tips on how to recruit massive mafia in face book and how to avoid death as much as possible in mafia wars!

For those who haven't, go try out the game here.

Introduction
You start with one member (yourself) and fight with crowbar (basic weapon) and work your way up to top mafia. The more you fight, the more stamina you use up and as well as the health points! The more job you work, the more the energy point you use up. You can buy properties and rent it out or set up a tourist attraction but be careful because your properties may get robbed or worst being put out of business. Like the picture below...

It happens to me very often....

Basic Navigation
Jobs- To earn experience and money. Some jobs require certain items, properties, or mafia size to complete. New jobs become available as you progress through the game by completing jobs, earning cash and expanding your mafia size. Use that cash to buy the tools you need to perform bigger and better jobs for a bigger payoff. Some times there will be bosses in the job section, so you can try beat them and get rewards ^^

Fight- Remember to have full health before you go to fight because you'll never know when you being beaten to death. You need your health to stay alive in fights and to avoid getting knocked down from a sucker punch. You can earn cash and experience by picking fights as well :)

Hit List- Don't like a player? Put him/her to hitlist! Then after awhile somebody would claim bounty from you. It usually take less than a minutes for my bounty to be claimed by others ^^ Find out who’s got a bounty on their head, and make sure you’re not one of them! You can be a hitman too and claim the rewards but it is on first-come-first-served basis though.

Properties - Generate income for you every hour after deducting your upkeep. This helps you to earn income without energy used. Great for low levels but as your level increase it is not so significant income anymore. Most of your income would likely come from your jobs. I recommend Mafia Mike. It is a good investment ^^

Bank- Safe guard your cash at the bank, you need to pay 10% laundering. I would usually deposit $$ after getting my income. It is a safe measure ^^

Hospital- Pay them a small fee to heal you :)

Inventory- This is where you buy and sell your weapons, armors, vehicles.

The rest I leave it for you to explore. No point telling everything without trying out :P

If your friend (Friends you just added from the big mafia group) you add doesn't have the invite status message. Try replacing the zero with their id from this "http://apps.facebook.com/inthemafia/status_invite.php?from=00000000"

Get your friend id by visiting their profile, copy the digits after the id=
Eg. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1497529999

copy 1497599999 and paste to this http://apps.facebook.com/inthemafia/status_invite.php?from=1497599999

in your browser and enter! There you go, you've added your friend in mafia wars.

Tips #7
Too many mafia friends in your friend list? You can remove all of them after adding them in mafia wars. It's fine. I've tried it :)

Edited: You can create a friend list and collate all the mafia friends into that list. I think that would be neat and I notice if your mafia friend is not in your friend list, you can't help them when they request for help out. So this way will solve the problem!

I've gotten really tired about these. Almost every blog I visited is filled with duplicated articles. Where is the originality ? I'm pissed off because the situation got so bad recently. lol Maybe it's because of the gloomy economic situation now :P And for goodness sake, there are freaking so many work at home sites that would have just one single sale pitch page and opt in pop up for you to enter your email address and then they promise you to send you your free ebook and yeay! You are in their mailing list ^^". I had went to numerous sites and almost every single site says the same thing.

Some Similarities...

Earn USD $200+ or more in 3 days. I thought that google would usually take about 5days to get a page indexed? I'm not sure though... Anyway if you know how to earn so much money in 3days then why would you share the secret to everbody? Won't it be like cutting your cake into smaller portions and share it with more people, isn't it? Or you mean you can earn even more money if someone buy your product? Hehe...Think about it, everything comes with terms and condition.
This ebook usual price is $47! But now if you opt in your email address, I'll give you the ebook for free!! Yea right, I can google the ebook myself and the ebook doesn't really help. With the usual content whereby the first few pages would be talking about "you need to have motivation, strong driving force to do internet marketing and patience to see result" Then their closing would be asking you to pay them to be their affiliate member and start similar website just like theirs. -.- How horrible, it's just like a vicious cycle!
Their tales are all the same. I think the tales came from the same person. Like I quited my 9-5 job because now I can earn more in interneting marketing. Think. If one day, everybody does internet marketing, who will be the one working in the office? How about the restaurants, the movie theaters, those business will probably shut down because nobody wants to work for them, everybody has become the internet marketer because interneting marketing can earn big bucks! Haha, unfortunately thats not true. Only the fittest, strongest will survive :)

Lastly, I wish to tell everybody, internet marketing is not an overnight get rich quick thing. It doesn't work that way. Please don't get cheated by those poorly designed template website, unless it's from a reputable person like Warren Buffet, the richest man in the world. You can click here to see his company's website. It's so simple. Anyhow he's not in the internet marketing sector, so it's okie. Haha

If the site asks you to pay money, think thrice. How does the site earns its revenue? Do they earn their revenue from internet marketing newbies? Or do they really earn alot and they are so kind to teach you how to earn money online just for a small fee? How credible are they? If you think that it's just a small sum of money and you can afford then go ahead. Or maybe you want to buy their ebook just to know how they earn your money then go ahead as well =P

I can say that right now it is hard to differentiate real internet marketing or it's a scam because there are just too many! It's like finding a needle in a haystack!

If you want to learn about internet marketing, then browse for free resources from the websites first and look from the library before you purchase for any resources.

Shinjuku Incident starring Jackie Chan. This is the first time I see Jackie Chan acting as a villain in movie. After I watched it, I felt that his role wasn't a bad guy afterall.

IMO, I think his role, Steelhead was a guy who was damn lucky and was desperate to see his childhood girlfriend, Xiu Xiu who had left for Tokyo in search of better life. While he was earning a decent living in Tokyo, he found out that she was married a big yakuza. And because of that, Steelhead tried to make himself a big time gangster so that he could see his ex-girlfriend and be with her again. Thus he started doing all those illegal stuff... Haha spoilers for all of ya...

Jackie Chan as Triad Boss xD

I'll give this movie a 4 out of 5 stars. Why? I like actions movies especially gangsters type so yeah xD What impressed me was that it taught me a lesson: Money can't buy happiness. Spoilers again: The brothers fought each other and all of them died :x Oh yeah Fang Bing Bing was in the show as well, she acted as Jackie Chan's present girlfriend in the movie.

I watched Shinjuku Incident @ Cathay and I paid the ticket using my UOB Now card, so it was $8.00 compared it to the usual price which was $10.00, I think it's worthwhile for a new movie :)

Happiness with little money is possible

I'm not saying exactly happiness without money but with sufficient money to live a normal life. These are the tips that I'm using :)

Tips
#1 Just be contented of what you have. Live with what you have!

#2 Share things with people. Sharing is caring :)

#3 Surf the Internet, don't go shopping! You can know what's happening in the world without going out of your house nowadays!

#4 Sleep early and for at least 8hrs. E.g. 10pm-6am. Why am I saying this? I used to be an owl but ever since I started working, I began to sleep early. Reasons are because I need to get sufficient rest to get my brain to function properly and I got really drained after work that I can fall asleep after 15minutes. Now that is already good for me because I used to fall asleep only after an hour. If you face difficulties in getting into bed, I suggest to should get yourself tired first. E.g. exercising, working, walking etc physical activities will do :) not watching television or gaming please. These will simulate your brain and you will end up staying late nights.

#5 Eating Right. Are you overweight? Maybe you should cut down on fried food or starchy food. Eat more vegetables and fruits. Drink 7-8 glasses of water. I know frequent toilet visits will resulted if you drink too much water, so just drink at least 7-8 glasses of water. Water will make you feel fuller. So you can just eat 70% full and drink some water to make yourself fuller. I lose weight by using this method, by dieting the right and healthy way.

By cutting down on oily food will reduce your skin oil secretion that will mean less pimples too :) You can google search for benefit of water and sleep and you will know that they do wonders :)

Alright. Maybe you think that are you sure these tips will work? If you can just follow tips #1 then you can be content with what you have now without doing the other tips. Haha just joking. Sleep is essential in our life because we spent 1/3 of our lives sleeping so if you get anything less than that, your body will go haywire. If you eat right, you probably in healthy BMI range,look good and in good health so you will be happy so that is the logic.

You can live a simple happy life if you follow this tips. Simple is beautiful :)

How to Access Windows Live Hotmail via Mozilla Thunderbird v2

1. Select Tools > Account Settings... from the menu bar in Mozilla Thunderbird.

2.Click Add Account....and select Email Account. Click Next >. Enter your name in the Your Name: field. Enter your Windows Live Hotmail address under Email Address: and then click Next >.

3. Select POP under Select the type of incoming server you are using.. Enter "pop3.live.com" under Incoming Server: and then click Next >.

4.Enter your full Windows Live Hotmail address (together with "@hotmail.com"or "@live.com", etc.) under Incoming User Name: and click Next >.

5.Enter the Account Name you would like it to be referred as under Account Name: and click Next >. (I suggest entering your full Windows Live Hotmail address. ) Click Next >. Click Next > again. Click Finish.

6.Go to the Server Settings category of the account named after your Windows Live Hotmail email address and do the following :-

Ensure SSL is selected under Use secure connection:.
Check if "995" is entered under Port:.
Go to Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the server list. Click Add.... and key "Windows Live Hotmail" under Description:.
Enter "smtp.live.com" under Server Name:.
Check if "25" is entered under Port: .If you run into problems sending mail, try "587" instead. Make sure Use name and password is checked.
Type your full Windows Live Hotmail address (again including "@hotmail.com" etc.).
Make sure TLS is selected under Use secure connection and click OK.
Go back to your Windows Live Hotmail account's root.
Make sure "Windows Live Hotmail - smtp.live.com" is selected under Outgoing Server (SMTP) and click OK.
